Supervise a division of the Maintenance Department in one of the following trades: Horticulture, Site Maintenance, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Preventative Maintenance, or Carpentry. Perform regular site visits/building inspections, collaborating with building administrators to identify facility related maintenance/improvement needs. Assume responsibility for physical plant conditions in the district, ensuring that all reactive, preventative, and emergency work orders are prioritized, scheduled, and completed efficiently and effectively. Monitor technician performance by ensuring that all relevant data (labor, material costs, and action taken) is being recorded in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Technician performance should be documented in annual performance evaluations. Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, positive morale, and open communication within the Maintenance Department, knowing that the foundation for this work is grounded in safety, customer satisfaction, and accountability. Coordinate with the Director of Facilities & Maintenance in long-range planning and budget development while ensuring that all district resources are expended ethically and in accordance with Board of Education policies throughout the fiscal year. Identify training and staff development needs and coordinate accordingly with the Director of Facilities & Maintenance. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
