About The Position

Work under the direction from General Foreman or Superintendent on daily tasks for crew. Good skill and knowledge of duties in the craft environment being supervised.

Requirements

Minimum of four (4) years’ carpenter experience, preferably in refinery environment.
Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
Strong knowledge of industrial safety standards and protocols.
Able to proficiently run several types of equipment (forklifts, manlifts, etc.)
Able to communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and other departments about issues and solutions.
Complete the Company’s Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client/Site specific training.
MUST obtain and maintain active status within the appropriate drug testing program.
MUST pass background check.
MUST have TWIC card.
MUST obtain the 20-hour high hazard facility training card.
MUST have Verification of 8,000 craft related hours OR Graduated journeyperson status preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform duties within a precise limit or standard of accuracy (Quality Control).
Pour concrete, finish and build and place straight concrete forms, irregular concrete forms, forms for underground electrical i.e.: duct banks, concrete forms for stairways and floors, walls and columns,
Layout Batter boards, partitions, doors and windows, box-cut in concrete walls acoustics and drywall, floor and ceiling runners, studs, stiffeners, bracing, and fire blocking,
Thermal and sound insulation, Installation of backing and finish materials, Fireproofing of columns, beam and chases
Assist in excavation activities and installation of underground shoring systems where required
Assist in installation and demo of underground utilities
Knowledge and understanding Asbestos abatement and other hazardous material handling and disposal
Responsible for operating equipment to support construction and maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Must work well with supervision.
May be required to train and supervise apprentices.
Perform other responsibilities as required or assigned.
