Under the general supervision of the Building Construction Superintendent, the incumbent will plan and lay out work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints, and their own knowledge of construction or needed repairs. The role involves selecting lumber, materials, and supplies; measuring and cutting materials to required lengths and dimensions. The incumbent will install various components including rafters, studs, roofing, building paper, insulating materials, door and window frames, and interior trim. They will also fabricate and install frames or castings for windows, doors, transoms, shelves, counters, bulletin boards, cabinets, bookcases, and related features. Additionally, the role includes fabricating concrete forms, pouring and finishing concrete, scaffolds, storage bins, tables, workbenches, and all other related items. The incumbent will paint a variety of interior and exterior surfaces, prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply them using brushes, rollers, or spray guns. They may coordinate the work of one or more employees.
