Job Description: As a Construction Carpenter, you will play a critical role in the construction, installation, and dismantling of formwork and structural components for concrete bridge elements. You'll work with wood, metal, and modular form systems to shape the foundations, supports, and decks of the bridge, ensuring precision, safety, and durability.

Requirements

  • Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy.
  • Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Construct, erect, and install formwork for bridge foundations, piers, abutments, and decks
  • Fabricate and assemble wood and metal forms using hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and materials
  • Measure, cut, and shape lumber, plywood, and steel form components
  • Set forms to required grades and alignments using levels, lasers, and string lines
  • Dismantle and clean formwork after concrete placement
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and project specifications
  • Collaborate with foremen, engineers, and other trades on-site
  • Set grout forms for epoxy and cement grout
