About The Position

MWH is currently seeking an experienced Carpenter to support a critical wastewater treatment plant construction project in Austin, Texas.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3+ years of carpentry experience in heavy civil, structural concrete, or industrial construction.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Pre-employment drug screening and background checks required.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Required to communicate information, ideas, directions, and the capability to perform the task or project discussed.
  • Experience cin onstructing and stripping structural concrete formwork
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and layout information
  • Proficient in the use of carpentry hand and power tools
  • Ability to perform physical construction work, climbing, kneeling, and working at heights
  • If requested, the applicant shall furnish a written statement from a medical doctor that he/she has had a physical examination in connection with the application and is physically fit to perform the work.

Responsibilities

  • Construct, install, brace, and strip formwork for cast-in-place concrete structures, including tanks, basins, walls, slabs, channels, vaults, and equipment foundations
  • Layout and assemble form systems (gang forms, Symons, EFCO, job-built forms) tothe required line, grade, and tolerance
  • Install embeds, anchor bolt templates, waterstops, blockouts, and expansion joint materials per drawings
  • Read and interpret structural and civil construction drawings, specifications, and layout marks
  • Measure, cut, and assemble wood and composite formwork materials using hand and power tools
  • Assist with concrete placement activities, including form checks, vibration support, and protection of finished work
  • Construct temporary works such as scaffolding, platforms, walkways, edge protection, and safety barriers
  • Support installation of process equipment pads, mechanical supports, and plant structural elements
  • Perform retrofit or rehabilitation carpentry within existing treatment facilities
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and protect installed work
  • Follow all safety requirements, including fall protection, confined space, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Move and install machinery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to the MWH safety program.
