About The Position

As a Carpenter at Borgata, you will be responsible for performing both predictive maintenance and reactive repairs, including fixing broken or damaged furniture and building custom cabinetry, tables, and other furnishings as requested. All tasks will be carried out in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as departmental and company policies and procedures, ensuring the integrity of our facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent Required
  • 2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience in similar environment Required
  • Required to work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all furniture, cabinetry, rooms, public areas and offices
  • Responsible for completion of jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management, maintain logbooks
  • Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments in a timely manner
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install permanent structures, office partitions, doors, cornices, counters, etc., safely set up and operate various types of woodworking machines in conjunction with work assignments, work under minimal supervision to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to obtain dimensions and finished specifications, lay out jobs and compute angular and linear dimensions as required
  • Understand the layout of the property, hotel rooms, and equipment
  • Keep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditions within the property
  • Maintain constant awareness of personal and property cleanliness, safety and accident prevention, able to wear/use personal protective equipment (p.p.e.)
