About The Position

A carpenter constructs, installs, and repairs building structures, fixtures, and furniture, focusing on both rough and finished carpentry. They work from blueprints, use hand/power tools to cut, shape, and install materials, and adhere to safety regulations while maintaining residential units.

Requirements

• Experience: Generally 3–5 years of experience in residential or commercial construction.
• Skills: Proficiency in using hand/power tools (saws, drills, sanders) and reading blueprints.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in varied weather.
• Licenses: Valid driver's license often required for commuting between job sites.
• Certification: Specialized licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Structural Work: Framing walls, partitions, and building forms.
• Finish Carpentry: Installing windows, doors, cabinets, hardwood floors, and trim.
• Maintenance/Repairs: Repairing damaged wooden structures, locks, ceilings, and stairs.
• Layout & Calculation: Measuring and marking materials for precise installation.
• Safety Compliance: Adhering to OSHA guidelines and maintaining a clean, safe job site.
• Record Keeping: Tracking materials and time spent on projects.
