About The Position

This position is responsible for operating carpentry equipment to assist in
building parts of interior and exterior of ships, and shipyard buildings at our
vast, 63-acre facility. The role involves reading blueprints, measuring and
cutting materials, assembling components, and operating carpentry tools and
equipment to support ship construction, repair, and dock operations.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be a U.S. Person.
• Must be able to work at heights.
• Must be able to work in confined and enclosed spaces.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must have knowledge of construction materials/methods and basic blueprint reading.
• Must be a self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Nice To Haves

• Prior shipyard experience a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions under intermittent supervision and review blueprints/specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, mark, cut, and install wood components for ship and building structures.
• Operate carpentry tools/equipment and assist with docking and undocking vessels.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper storage and handling of all tools.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks as needed while adhering to all safety, quality, and environmental policies.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work energetically in a waterfront environment while following organizational procedures.
