The University of Alaska Fairbanks, in partnership with the Directorate of Public Works at Fort Wainwright, is seeking a full-time Carpenter (CT1) to join our skilled team. This entry-level position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and rapid response multiple craft projects across Fort Wainwright facilities. The technician will assist with inspections, construction, and general facility upkeep while adhering to strict safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in construction, maintenance, or a related field, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Must be physically able to lift up to 70 pounds and work safely in various environments, including areas with potential hazardous materials. A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain military installation access clearance are required. This role supports safe, efficient, and sustainable facility operations within a military environment under the UAF Environmental Community Partnership. The position helps maintain critical facility systems contributing to a safe and resilient community.
