About The Position

The Carpenter is responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks on commercial and multifamily construction projects, with a strong emphasis on preparation, precision, and detail work. This role includes both rough and finish carpentry, as well as punch list and close-out activities. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent craftsmanship, takes pride in producing clean, accurate work, and possesses a general working knowledge of other trades including plumbing, electrical, and finishes to ensure high-quality results across all aspects of the project.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry experience in commercial, multifamily, or similar construction environments.
  • Skilled in both rough and finish carpentry with an emphasis on detail and precision.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and specifications accurately.
  • Familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical systems preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must possess and maintain a reliable set of personal hand tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rough carpentry tasks including framing, blocking, backing, and temporary protection or safety assemblies.
  • Execute finish carpentry and detailed installation of doors, hardware, cabinetry, trim, base, and millwork to meet project specifications.
  • Lead and complete punch list and final detail work, ensuring all deficiencies are corrected prior to owner turnover.
  • Prepare, measure, cut, and assemble materials with precision and efficiency.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and clean work area at all times.
  • Coordinate with other trades to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion of work.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of other building systems (plumbing, electrical, drywall, finishes) to perform minor repairs.
  • Inspect completed work to verify quality and adherence to company standards.
  • Report material needs, field conditions, and schedule impacts to the Superintendent or Project Manager promptly.
  • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
