About The Position

Chelsea Piers is looking to hire two skilled Carpenters to join our talented technical maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues across the Chelsea Piers property. This role reports to the Facilities Site Engineer. Your primary work location will be at our flagship Chelsea location, but there may be occasional work at our other NYC facilities. As the skilled Carpenter, you will be expected to: Oversee general maintenance of facility Coordinate with Site Operations Manager for special projects on a daily basis Supervise general maintenance employees and schedule required work to achieve timely and efficient completion of work Maintain cleanliness of shop and proper function of all equipment and tools. Ensure all employees are working in a safe and proper manner including wearing and using all required safety gear, harnesses, and eye protection Communicate and report any incidents or problems that arise in completing work assignments Plan and order materials for the efficient completion of work assignments Conduct daily inspections of site and prepare work repair lists, which should be submitted to Site Operations Manager This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities. This can change at any time at the discretion of your supervisor.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in maintenance or construction environments.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license
  • OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certifications (or willingness to obtain).
  • Certification for ladder, scissor lift, and scaffolding safety (or willingness to obtain).
  • Flexible availability, including occasional holidays, weekends, and overnight work.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
