Summary: The Carpenter has knowledge of various carpentry techniques and is responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures and fixtures in residential buildings. This role will install cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation while also adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges. Other duties will include cutting and measuring materials according to a client's requirements. A successful Carpenter is hardworking, reliable, and be detail oriented.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program preferred.
Proven experience as a carpenter.
Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials.
Punchlist experience.
Completion of OSHA 10 or 30, or ability to complete.
Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in carpentry

Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, tape measures etc.).
Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
A willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
Take measurements and calculating the size and amount of material needed.
Cutting, shaping, and smoothing of lumber and other material according to measurements.
Install of windows and doors.
Assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items.
Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
Finishing trim and rough carpentry.
Touching up and punch-listing all trim and drywall items, as well as fix door and hardware issues.
Install exterior faade of building.
Other duties as needed.
