About The Position

This position assists the Engineering Department in meeting the 24- hour demands of a successful Hotel/Casino operation. Position purpose is responsible for repairing, installation, and preventive maintenance of wallpaper, painting, stain match, finish carpentry, cabinetry, doors and hardware, custom cabinet, and trim work at the property. Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be proficient ("Journeyman" level) worked a minimum of 5yrs specific to the Carpentry and painting trade.
  • Ability to use and operate hand tools, mechanical equipment, power tools and other related equipment.
  • Work independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Follow written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain friendly, cooperative, and effective working relationships with all persons contacted in the course of work.
  • Knowledge and experience in maintaining the following: a. Painting b. Wall Patching c. Sheet rock d. Wood working e. Paint mixing f. Wallpaper and Vinier install g. Cabinetry including hardware h. Doors including hardware i. General Carpentry j. Finish Carpentry
  • Basic understanding of Furniture and upholstery repair.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Make all necessary repairs to maintain the property's operations.
  • Respond to all internal and external guest complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid guest inconvenience or discomfort.
  • Responsible for repairing and installing all wallpaper, painting, stain match, and carpentry products.
  • Responsible for maintenance of custom cabinetry and trim work.
  • Be knowledge of MSDS booklet location for your area.
  • Be familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and equipment and tools.
  • Maintain all tools, equipment, and department storage areas.
  • Use brush or spray gun in applying all types of paint products or other protective or decorative finishes to all types of surfaces, including building and furniture.
  • Scrape, sand, fill, plaster or in some manner prepare surfaces for painting and repainting.
  • Match, blend harmonize and contrast colors.
  • Apply under and finish coats.
  • Refinish furniture and other equipment.
  • Construct, install and finish all types of cabinets.
  • Mill and install molding and other wood items.
  • Install hardware on cabinets, including handles, hinges, locks, catches, and stops.
  • Read blueprints and prepare simple sketches, material lists, and layout of the job site.
  • Maintain adequate stock of items to ensure timely response to everyday items.
