The Carpenter performs the carpentry duties necessary to maintain in good repair building woodwork and equipment such as bins, cribs, counters, benches, partitions, doors. Work involves most of the following: Examines blueprints and determines dimensions of structure. Layout and construct light gauge metal framing. Hang, tape, finish and sand new drywall. Layout and install acoustical ceiling grid. Install acoustical ceiling tile. Install ceramic tile. Other duties as assigned. This position is located overseas.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • A combination of education and directly related experience equal to eight (8) years.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program for a journeyman carpenter with eight (8) years of experience in trade and building maintenance.
  • Knowledge of PM programs.
  • Practical knowledge of repairs, installation of floor and ceiling tile, walls (plaster, block, drywall), masonry work, locksmithing, cabinet making, framing, form work and general knowledge of the painting trade.
  • Ability to operate small power tools and machinery as required.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform material take-offs from prints.
  • Possess leadership skills.
  • Possess the skills and attitudes to effectively communicate with the customer and subordinates.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Possess an active Secret clearance or higher.
