Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ ASRC Federal NetCentric Technology, LLC is seeking a Carpenter - Maintenance to join our team for the Kirtland Engineering and Operations Support (KEOS) contract at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB) in Albuquerque, New Mexico. KEOS is a base maintenance contract (BMC), also known as a base operations support (BOS) contract. Job Summary: The Carpenter - Maintenance performs general inspection, maintenance, and repair of building exterior and interior and other base infrastructure. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring that all structural work complies with Kirtland AFB Design Guide Standards and federal, state, and local building codes. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Requirements

  • Minimum education level of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of six (6) months of carpentry/painting in commercial or manufacturing spaces.
  • Be able to read and interpret building diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Competency in basic mathematic skills including fractions, addition, subtraction, division.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
  • Must have proficient English oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate with employees, management, and customers.
  • Must be a US citizen and currently possess or be able to obtain/maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Be capable of performing work in a field environment requiring full range of motion and movement; be able to perform physical activities including climbing and working at heights greater than 50 feet, crawling, working outdoors, and repetitive physical tasks involving lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Be committed to providing for and maintaining a safe working environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Technical College or formal Trade Program training in carpentry.
  • One (1) year of carpentry/painting in the government, commercial, or manufacturing arena(s).
  • Experience working in Department of Defense or other government environment.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoots and performs repairs as needed.
  • Performs tasks to fulfill service requirements and account for time and material in accordance with contractual requirements for emergency, routine, and preventative work tasks.
  • Completes necessary documentation in accordance with the company’s processes and the customer’s service requirements.
  • Communicates with central dispatch, Carpenter Lead, and shop supervisor on current work order status and receives updates on outstanding customer issues daily following the service process(es).
  • Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work.
  • Install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
  • Add fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
  • Select lumber by size and strength to suit each job, sourcing wood to suit the customer’s budget and style.
  • Calculate the number of fasteners required for each job.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and other construction professionals.
  • Read blueprints and designs to work to specifications prepared by other construction professionals, architects and building code recommendation.
  • Set up scaffolding to provide safe access to repair structural members/paint exterior.
  • Paint, patch and seal exterior and interior surfaces.
  • Patch, repair and apply stucco.
  • Stripe road surfaces.
  • Perform striping and painting of required symbols for parking lots.
  • Take paint samples to ensure color matches.
  • Participates in an after-hours on-demand service program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
