About The Position

Our Public Works department is hiring a Carpenter III to lead and perform advanced maintenance, renovations, and repairs on commercial and municipal buildings, including boardwalk and oceanfront areas. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial building maintenance experience, with well-rounded rough and finish carpentry skills and proficiency in installing doors, windows, and commercial hardware. They should bring proven leadership or supervisory experience, including overseeing contractors and maintaining accurate records. Experience working with pavers and operating pressure-washing equipment is also highly preferred. Requirements

strong commercial building maintenance experience

Responsibilities

Coordinate with planners and staff during oceanfront events.
Inspect and repair different types of roofing, siding, and cornice.
Repair cabinets and countertops, laminate and solid surface.
Be experienced in installing and repairing doors and windows.
Be experienced in installing and repairing commercial locks and hardware.
Fill out daily work orders of work performed, write reports and cost estimates for time and materials needed.
Direct the work activities of subordinate carpenters to ensure proper and timely completion.
Perform work in compliance with local, state, and federal building codes.
