About The Position
Montgomery Parks Facilities Management Division, located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, is currently seeking a dynamic, highly professional Carpenter II. The Carpenter II will be part of the Facilities Management Division, which consists of 118 staff responsible for the care and maintenance of the Department's physical assets including facilities, pavement, fleet, and major building systems. The division has a budget of over $13 million and is responsible for facility condition assessments, major and minor maintenance programs, and supports the Department's Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). The Carpentry shop consists of 15 staff engaged in park renovation and improvement projects, including upgrading park activity buildings and picnic shelters, constructing park kiosks, and making repairs to aging infrastructure. Staff also complete preventative maintenance projects such as building and roof inspections and gutter cleaning.
