About The Position

Level of responsibility will vary with level of experience. The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out carpentry and framing tasks as assigned by supervision. Accountability includes completing tasks to company standards for quality, safety, schedule, and specifications while supporting the successful execution of field construction activities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma.
  • 4+ years of prior carpentry experience preferred, including rough and/or finish carpentry work.
  • Proficiency with carpentry-related hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively with diverse audiences through various mediums.
  • Proficiency in numerical calculations, including percentages and basic algebraic concepts.
  • Capacity to analyze problems, gather information, and provide information to the Supervisor, while also interpreting technical instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired experience in the construction industry with proficiency in door, hardware, and restroom accessory installation, as well as, experience in rough framing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs carpentry duties including rough framing, backing, blocking, installation of doors, frames, and hardware.
  • Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and components using wood, metal studs, engineered lumber, and similar materials.
  • Builds, sets, and braces concrete forms according to plans, sketches, and specifications.
  • Measures, marks, and cuts materials using tape measures, squares, levels, and power tools.
  • Installs exterior and interior wall systems including framing, sheathing, drywall backing, and associated components.
  • Uses power tools such as circular saws, reciprocating saws, drills, screw guns, routers, and nail guns safely and effectively.
  • Assists with layout of walls, openings, elevations, and structural dimensions.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, plans, and construction drawings with guidance from supervision.
  • Ensures proper installation of hardware, anchors, fasteners, and assemblies.
  • Loads, carries, and stages materials required for carpentry tasks.
  • Maintains and organizes tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Recognizes safety hazards and communicates them to the project team; participates in correcting issues under direction.
  • Attends safety training and completes required certifications.
  • Displays MV core values and conducts daily work with professionalism and integrity.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support field operations.
  • Cleans tools, equipment, materials and work areas.
  • Conducts our daily business with integrity and at the highest level of ethical standards.
