We are seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter Foreman to lead on-site operations in Portsmouth, NH. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to manage crews, subcontractors, schedules, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in commercial construction, including supervisory or foreman roles
• Extensive knowledge of commercial carpentry practices and building methods
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop crews in fast-paced environments
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and crew-building abilities
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents
• Proficient with tablets, project management applications, and digital field tools
• High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills
• OSHA 30
• First Aid / CPR
• Trade-specific certifications (carpentry, concrete, steel, etc.)
• Equipment operator certifications, as applicable

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise on-site carpentry crews and coordinate subcontractor activities
• Plan, schedule, and execute daily work activities to meet project milestones
• Interpret and enforce construction drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Maintain a safe jobsite by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Monitor productivity, material usage, and workmanship to ensure efficiency and quality
• Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, inspectors, and clients
• Identify and resolve jobsite issues proactively to avoid delays or rework
• Utilize tablets, project management software, and digital field tools for reporting and coordination
