Facilities Management (FM) is offering an exciting opportunity for a Zone Maintenance Carpenter to support the department’s goal of providing consistent, cost-effective, and reliable carpentry services in the University Central Grounds Zone. This role involves maintaining both historic and modern facilities, including Thomas Jefferson’s Academical Village and UNESCO World Heritage Site which features the Rotunda, Pavilions, Lawn & Range Student Rooms, as well as modern academic facilities. The Zone Maintenance Carpenter will be responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry tasks, including repairs, renovations, and installations, with a focus on maintaining the structural integrity and appearance of various buildings. Special attention will be given to historic structures, ensuring that all work aligns with historic preservation standards, while also addressing the functional needs of modern facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of services provided to the university community, combining traditional carpentry skills with modern maintenance practices to enhance the university’s infrastructure.
