Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Geological Engineering, or related degree
  • 7-10 years of applicable experience with expertise in growth and exploration
  • Two years of demonstrated experience compiling and reviewing mapping and ore routing data with production and modelling geologists to provide quality geologic ore body knowledge to the mine engineering and operational teams
  • Four years demonstrated experience with Leapfrog, Acquire, WellCAD or other mining software preferred
  • Demonstrated competence in 3D modeling software (Leapfrog preferred) and other geologic software
  • Geological/geochemical/geophysical interpretive and integration skills
  • Strong experience understanding and recognition of mineralization models and geological processes
  • Ability to use standard geological computer packages required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required
  • Possess a high level of organization with attention to details and adaptation to changing priorities
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to lead and work within a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
  • Demonstrated commitment to a safe work culture, ability to work safely, and completion of projects in an environmentally responsible manner required
  • Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of position required

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees, contractors and the public
  • Collection, and QAQC of geologic data, including mapping, sampling, RC chip and core logging
  • Compile, integrate, synthesize and interpret large data sets to identify new opportunities and drill targets
  • Planning, executing, and delivering results from growth and exploration drill programs
  • Presenting and reporting of program progress, implications of results, and next steps
  • Collaboration with a diverse team and mentoring of junior geologists
  • Lead team of junior geologists and ensure project budgets, timelines, and goals are achieved
  • Understanding of gold deposits, mineral systems, and exploration methods
  • Identify lithology, alteration and mineralogy associated with gold systems
  • Work with the Growth Team to develop resource and reserve opportunities
  • Deliver regular progress reports and presentations, ensure key stakeholders are kept up to date on project progress
  • Provide input for geotechnical, metallurgical, and hydrological studies
  • Prepare and present annual budget materials
  • Other duties as assigned
