About The Position

The Cargo Risk/Claims Associate role at Ruan Transportation Management Systems is an entry-level position focused on assisting with cargo and property claims related to transportation and brokerage operations. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, Business, Accounting, or related field of study.
• 1-2 years experience with Transportation, Insurance, or Business involving customer service, auditing, billing, and cargo claims.
• Ability to commit to Ruan's value statement by acting with integrity in everything we do.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and large group situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing cargo and property claims.
• Work with customers and transportation providers to gather information required to submit a claim and update Claims system with status updates.
• Open mail, update system with claim check information, and mail checks to customers.
• Run weekly and monthly reports.
• Manage the Cargo Claims email inbox by organizing emails, updating the system with transportation acknowledgements, and handling concealed claim notifications.
• Maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) for the department.
• Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
