About The Position

The Ramp Service Agent - Air Freight at Alaska Airlines plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of air cargo services. This position involves performing various below-wing functions in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the efficient handling of cargo and luggage, and maintaining the ramp and warehouse areas. The role is essential for supporting the extensive air cargo operations that serve both urban and rural communities across the West Coast.

Requirements

• Must have a valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to get along with others.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and grasp.
• Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
• Ability to adapt to performing work according to set procedures.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work at a constant and quick pace for up to two hours at one time.
• Ability to learn quickly and understand flight schedules and airline destination information.
• Good attendance and punctuality record required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum age of 18 and authorized to work in the U.S.

• Knowledge of operations with industrial equipment.
• Previous experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch cargo, completing necessary paperwork.
• Transfer, load, and offload luggage and cargo using conveyor belts or forklifts.
• Transport luggage and cargo to various airport locations.
• Maintain ramp and warehouse areas.
