Job Summary To lead, plan and manage all operational shift activities associated with cargo service delivery and handling in line with our policies, procedures and the Swissport "three P's" principal and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years Management experience within the industry
  • General office and warehouse operations skills
  • Customer focus and quality awareness
  • Good oral and Mitten communications and ability to communicate and motivate and drive standards at all levels
  • Ability to work in inclement weather
  • Ability to persuade, gain support, obtain commitment and mobilize a team to action
  • Operational and general compliance orientation
  • Personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness
  • Punctuality

Responsibilities

  • Take full shift leadership and management responsibility of cargo office and warehouse operations in IAD.
  • As a member of the IAD management team, participate energetically in running, developing all aspects of the operations and business.
  • Work closely with the warehouse and office peers to develop and maintain a well-functioning relationship between all operational shifts.
  • Have thorough understanding of contractual customer obligations, service qualify and SLA requirements.
  • Actively track productivity, quality, and financial performance. Undertake needed actions to make sure that set targets are met consistently.
  • Coordinates safety and qualify initiatives.
  • Have thorough understanding of Swissport and airlines SOPs and take ownership of processes related to the department and its staff. Control to ensure the shift is functioning according to all those requirements.
  • Ensure that the daily operation is performing according io the highest health, safety and security standards.
  • Know the basic legal and authority requirements related to the operation and cooperate with local authorities to house a safe and secure operating environment. Communicate regularly with staff: review performance, improvement progress, focuses areas.
  • Take ownership for creating a progressive open and feedback culture by managing the performance and development of employees.
  • Provides station manager with periodic progress reports, audit schedules and assessments of safety and quality programs.
  • Communicate actively with customers and develop a Culture of proactive feedback.
  • Identify, coach and mentor new potential Swissport leaders.
  • Have full flexibility and availability to work any shift during all operational hours.
  • Communicate daily with Duty Managers in order to coordinate tasks for the day and communicate OPS& safety findings/concerns
  • Responsible for Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental activities at the station with an objective of reducing employee injuries, aircraft and equipment damage.
