Cargo Claim Analyst
About The Position
The Cargo Claims Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the Corporate Cargo Claims Manager by ensuring the accurate handling, documentation, and processing of corporate cargo claims. This position is responsible for auditing shipments, compiling essential documentation, coordinating claim settlements, and maintaining data accuracy across all endorsed and insured shipments. The analyst serves as a key liaison between internal teams, carriers, and corporate departments to ensure proper reporting and compliance. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive information responsibly. The Cargo Claims Analyst contributes to core corporate insurance, hazmat, and safety efforts as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma required; some college preferred.
- Certification/Licensure: None required.
- MS Office experience required, with strong knowledge of Excel.
- Demonstrated discretion and confidentiality in handling and protecting sensitive information.
- Technical: Proficient with common office technologies, including Windows PCs, Microsoft O365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and web conferencing (Teams, Zoom, Webex, etc.)
- Environment: Comfort commuting to/from and working in a 100% on-site setting (listed in this posting), with travel for related meetings/events.
Responsibilities
- Receive and carry out instructions from the Cargo Claims Manager.
- Endorse and insure corporate shipments with requested values.
- Compile and maintain an invoice database for all endorsed shipments.
- Audit all corporate shipments to verify accuracy of insured shipments reporting.
- Coordinate billing and payment processes for endorsed insured shipments.
- Audit all corporate cargo claims to ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Compile, organize, and maintain corporate cargo claims documentation in both hard-copy and digital form.
- File all corporate carrier cargo claims in accordance with internal standards and timelines.
- Coordinate cargo claim settlements with carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Support the Cargo Claims Manager with corporate insurance portfolio activities.
- All other duties as assigned to meet evolving business needs.
