About The Position

As a cargo agent, you will assist customers during the shipping and handling process by expediting and routing movement of incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments for air transportation.

Requirements

• Maintain and treat all information as confidential
• Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives
• Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
• Must be able to verbally direct in English
• A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances required by Local and Federal Regulatory Authorities and successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Builds up and breaks down cargo pallets and freight containers following guidelines
• Identifies cargo that does not meet customer or company standards and or guidelines
• Obtains proper security documents for all shipments, including bonded shipments
• Organizes freight within the warehouse according to the base storage plan
• Prescreen freight for any illegal substances or, explosive devices prior to loading aircraft
• Properly and safely loads and unloads freight
