About The Position
Caregivers at FirstLight Home Care of Simi Valley are essential in providing personal care and assisting clients with their activities of daily living in the comfort of their homes. The role requires a commitment to the philosophy and mission of FirstLight, focusing on helping individuals maximize their independence and reach their fullest potential. Caregivers will follow established Service Plans/Care Plans to address the non-medical needs of clients, which includes personal hygiene, toileting, bathing, oral care, and skincare. They will also provide companionship, engaging clients in conversation and social interaction to enhance their quality of life. In addition to personal care, caregivers will conduct light housekeeping duties, prepare and serve meals, assist with shopping, and provide incidental transportation for clients to appointments and social visits. They will engage clients in recreational activities and remind them to take medications as prescribed. Caregivers must remain in the vicinity of the client at all times during their shift, report any unusual incidents, and act quickly in emergencies. Documentation of services delivered and any changes in the client's condition is crucial, adhering to HIPAA regulations and FirstLight policies. The position offers flexible scheduling options, including part-time and full-time shifts, and requires caregivers to stay current with changing technology and participate in quality assurance reviews. This role is vital in ensuring that clients receive compassionate and competent care, promoting their well-being and independence.
