About The Position

We have the perfect opportunity for you .... if you are an experienced CAREGIVER, or if you simply have a nurturing spirit. And if you want to earn money while making a difference in someone's life. Our agency -- Close to Home Caregivers -- is looking for caregivers living within reasonable driving range of Venice -- such as North Port, Port Charlotte, Englewood, Punta Gorda. Specifically we need people available to do WEEKDAY SHIFTS. Some shifts may be 4 to 6 hours long, some are as long as 8, 10 or 12 hours. Tell us your preferences in shift lengths and days of the week -- we'll try to find the right match for you.

Requirements

• Prior experience in caregiving preferred but not required; training provided to those eager to learn.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with clients and their families.
• Valid Florida driver's license and a reliable vehicle (with current registration and insurance).
• A Level II background clearance.
• A lack of any felony convictions.
• An HHA certificate (we can help), a CPR certificate (we can help).

Responsibilities

• Tending to the safety and comfort of clients with a wide variety of needs.
• Monitoring a client’s condition while providing companionship and emotional support.
• Reminding clients to take their meds.
• Doing light housekeeping for clients no longer able to tidy up their homes.
• Accompanying client to appointments or outings as needed.
• Reporting any changes in the client's condition to the care management team.

Benefits

• Starting rate is $18.00/hour, flexible in some cases.
