Elan Westpointe is currently seeking dedicated Caregivers for our Assisted Living and Memory Care community located in New Braunfels, TX. The position is for the 2 pm - 10 pm shift, also known as the second shift or evening shift. This role is essential in providing compassionate care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. While no prior experience or certification is necessary, previous experience in senior care is preferred. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for working with seniors and are eager to join our team of wellness professionals. As a Wellness Associate, you will report directly to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility. You will also maintain an awareness of each resident's general state of physical and mental health, reporting any changes to the Wellness Director immediately. Keeping an inventory of medical supplies and assisting with ordering when necessary will also be part of your duties. In addition, you will help find shift coverage for unexpected call-outs and assist in orienting and onboarding new Wellness Associates. Responding to resident emergencies, providing first aid, and arranging for appropriate medical follow-up are critical aspects of this role. You will assist residents in keeping their living units clean and orderly, attend to their needs promptly, and help with meal selection and service. Participation in activity programs and maintaining records according to policy are also required. You will be expected to engage in a minimum of six hours of in-service education per year to enhance your skills and knowledge in caregiving. This position may require you to work weekends and holidays, as well as extended hours when necessary, and you may be subject to exposure to infectious waste and diseases.
