About The Position

We are looking for reliable, compassionate caregivers who are ready to make a lasting impact on our residents’ lives. The right candidate will take pride and play a key role by making a difference for our residents with SMI, TBI, and dual diagnosis. Under limited supervision, our caregivers are responsible for providing routines such as personal healthcare, bathing, dressing, and grooming as needed, to individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities in a group home setting. Our caregivers are also responsible for ensuring that programs are implemented properly to meet the individual goals and safety of the residents. In addition, caregivers would be performing daily duties during their shift(s) such as administering medications, safety checks, cooking nourishing meals following the menu provided and standard day-to-day chores (i.e., laundry, dishes, etc.).

  • Skills in problem identification and resolution
  • Ability to follow direction and use of sound judgment
  • Knowledge in HIPPA compliance
  • Ability to learn how to care for individuals with SMI, developmental disabilities, and other disorders
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with a diverse team of residents, co-workers, supervisors, management, and outside collaborators.
  • Two Negative TB Skin Tests, a Negative TB Blood test, or a Positive TB Skin Test with XRAY
  • CPI certificate
  • First Aid & CPR certification
  • Article 9 certification
  • High School Diploma/GED or Higher
  • Valid Fingerprint Level 1 Clearance Card (must provide on own)
  • Must pass all background checks such as federal, state, APS, CPS and OIG
  • Be able to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance

Responsibilities

  • Provide non-medical assistance and companionship to the residents in our group homes
  • Personal care and hygiene assistance, including bathing, toileting, incontinence and dressing; Assist with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living)
  • Assist with medication passes by following the six rights of medication passing
  • Prepare and serve meals to residents, according to prescribed diets and menu provided
  • Electronically document and maintain records in QuickMar/Caresuite of resident care, condition, progress, behaviors, goals met or unmet.
  • Report and discuss observations, changes in conditions, and incidents with supervisor and your house team.
  • Accompany clients to doctors’ offices and other trips outside of home, providing transportation, assistance and companionship
  • Assist, redirect and use coping skills towards the residents as needed to help them reach their individual goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe home for residents and staff (i.e. sanitize restrooms, sweep/mop, laundry, keep chemicals, medications and sharp objects locked etc.)
  • Communicate with incoming shifts about what was observed during your shift such as behaviors, elopement or residents out of the home (i.e. hospital, home pass)
  • Maintain compliance with credentials required to work in a group home setting, including attending in person monthly clinical supervision
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary
