About The Position
About the Client: Our client is an individual living with Schizoaffective Disorder , a chronic mental health condition involving symptoms of both schizophrenia (such as hallucinations or delusions) and mood disorders (such as depression or mania). The client thrives best in a calm, supportive, and structured environment. Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and reliable caregiver to provide consistent support, daily assistance, and companionship. The ideal candidate will understand the importance of emotional stability and gentle encouragement in promoting the client’s well-being and independence.
Requirements
- 2 forms of ID (Background check)
- CPR & First Aid
- TB Vaccine (within the last 2years)
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with clients with mental health conditions preferred
- Understanding of Schizoaffective Disorder or willingness to learn
- Strong communication and empathy skills
- Dependable, patient, and calm under pressure
- Must pass background check and have valid work authorization
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and promote a calm, safe environment
- Assist with daily living activities (meals, hygiene, medication reminders, light housekeeping)
- Encourage engagement in daily routines and positive activities
- Monitor and report changes in behavior or mood to the care team
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries
