About The Position

Visiting Angels is currently hiring compassionate, dependable Weekend Caregivers to join our growing team serving the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla communities. If you are a Home Care Aide (HCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with experience in hospice or end-of-life care , and supporting bed-bound clients , we would love to meet you!
As a Weekend Caregiver, you will provide essential in-home support to seniors and individuals who need assistance with daily living activities. Many of our clients require higher levels of care, including hospice support and full assistance with mobility. Your care helps clients remain safe, comfortable, and dignified in their own homes.

Requirements

• Active HCA or CNA certification (Washington State)
• Experience caring for bed-bound clients required
• Experience with or willingness to learn Hoyer lift transfers
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Ability to pass extensive background checks
• Compassionate, dependable, and professional demeanor

Nice To Haves

• Experience with hospice or end-of-life care preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
• Provide care for bed-bound clients , including repositioning and skin integrity support
• Support clients receiving hospice or end-of-life care with compassion and professionalism
• Assist with transfers, including possible Hoyer lift operation
• Provide light housekeeping and laundry
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
• Provide transportation to appointments and errands (as needed)
• Offer medication reminders (no medication administration)
• Monitor and report changes in client condition
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Communicate effectively with physicians, office staff, hospice teams, and fellow caregivers
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality
• Follow all professional standards of conduct and individualized care plans
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
