Opportunity for Caregiver part-time - Port Orange
About The Position
Community Resource Network of Florida is looking for a caregiver who is fun, compassionate, dependable and is committed to helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) achieve their highest level of independence and live their best life. We’re seeking a caregiver to provide support to a 38-year-old man. He requires assistance with all ADL's. He enjoys games, coloring, fun activities but most importantly make sure he is safe at all times and creating a positive and enjoyable environment. This is an independent contract position and pays $15.25 per hour Schedule: Mon, Tues and Thurs from 2pm - 8pm, Fri from 2pm - 10pm and if possible, Sat from 11am - 11pm You will be a good fit for this position if you: Have a positive outlook and contagious energy Demonstrate patience and compassion
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass Local and Level 2 Background Screening
- Provide proven 1 year of caregiving experience or technical training.
- Have a High School diploma or equivalent
- Are 18 years of age or older
Responsibilities
- Encouraging and supporting the individual during home activities
- Supporting with personal hygiene
- Meal/snack preparation and feeding assistance
- Ensuring individual's safety and maintaining a safe living environment
- Performing light housekeeping tasks
- Facilitate community involvement by accompanying individual to social events, community outings, such as grocery shopping and appointments
- Promote communication, choice, independence, and socialization
- Complete daily progress notes
