About The Position

Family Ties Home Care is seeking a Caregiver for a client in West LA who recently suffered a small stroke. The role involves providing companionship and acting as an advocate/assistant during the day to help the 90-year-old client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and drive him to various appointments. The client lives at home with his wife. This position offers competitive pay, training, and various benefits.

Requirements

• Current HCA or higher certification
• Caregiving experience of 1 year or similar experience
• Compassionate and caring demeanor
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow the pre-set care plan and medication schedule
• Ability to lift 35 pounds
• Ability to assist with client's mobility as needed
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work the schedule as described

Responsibilities

• Following a pre-set care plan
• Standard ADLs (personal care, bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene assistance)
• Assist with medication reminders
• Monitor and report on client's well-being
• Light housekeeping, laundry, & other household daily chores as needed
• Grocery shopping & errands
• Cooking/meal preparation
• Scheduling appointments, including doctor's
• Communication with Family Ties HC management & family members/loved-ones regarding the client's daily status
• Daily notes
• Other duties assigned as needed
