About The Position

Thrive as a Caregiver at REM West Virginia by engaging in rewarding work that helps individuals grow, learn, and live well. This role involves developing meaningful relationships with participants, taking initiative to integrate them into the community and their favorite activities, and supporting them with developmental goals such as budgeting, dental hygiene, exercise, and nutrition. Caregivers will assist people with a variety of needs, including autism and similar conditions, providing support with personal hygiene and managing behavioral challenges. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to stay calm and problem solve in stressful situations
Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible behavior
Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance in some positions

Nice To Haves

Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination

Responsibilities

Help people grow, learn, and live well
Develop real, meaningful relationships with the individuals you serve
Help participants be part of the community and enjoy their favorite activities
Support participants with developmental goals like budgeting, dental hygiene, exercise, and nutrition
Assist with personal hygiene
Provide support to individuals who may have behavioral challenges and other complex needs, including autism and related conditions
Cooking
Cleaning
Assisting with personal care, such as eating, dressing, bathing and toileting
