Dementia Experienced Caregiver Needed in Apex (Closer to Pittsboro side) Make a difference by enhancing quality of life through compassion and connection. No Place Like Home Senior Services is seeking a compassionate and engaging Weekend Caregiver to provide one-on-one support to a gentleman living with Stage 6 Dementia in his home in Apex, NC. This opportunity is perfect for a caregiver who loves thoughtful conversation, meaningful engagement, and creating comfort and dignity for those in their care. About the Client Lives at home with his wife and their sweet senior dog (must be comfortable with pets). Mostly continent and benefits from gentle structure and companionship. Both he and his wife are intelligent, kind individuals who appreciate engaging conversation and respectful interaction. The primary goal of this role is to enhance his quality of life through compassion, connection, and consistency.

Requirements

Experience with Dementia or Alzheimer’s care required for this particular case
Patient, compassionate, and reliable
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enjoys providing companionship and meaningful engagement
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
Must be comfortable with large breed dog
Must pass background check and reference verification

Responsibilities

Provide companionship and stimulating conversation throughout the day
Assist with all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meals
Promote calm, comfort, and confidence through gentle routine and engagement
Support mobility and personal safety
Help maintain a clean, positive, and comfortable home environment
Light housekeeping and household assistance as needed
Communicate observations and updates to family and agency staff
