About The Position

Senior Helpers is currently recruiting professional, caring, and reliable caregivers to work with our senior clients that need a helping hand with daily ADLs, errands, rides to doctor’s appointments, and companionship from energetic people to fill their time during the day while the family is at work or school. Requirements

Ability to treat clients with dignity and respect
Ability to read, write, and speak English at an average adult level and interpret the Plan of Care Document provided by Senior Helpers
Ability to drive is preferred
Ability to use public transportation to get to work
Valid US issued driver’s license with no serious driving violations
Ability to be flexible and adapt to new situations
Pass a criminal background check prior to employment with Senior Helpers
Must be able to be reached via phone oremail for shift schedules, client updates and/or emergencies
No Pets, Non-Smoking Residence

Nice To Haves

Prior experience with dementia patients and senior care, a plus, but not required
Spanish speakers welcomed; se habla Español

Responsibilities

Companionship and conversation
Personal Care (assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, feeding)
Light Housekeeping/Household Management (incl. laundry and linen changing)
Apparel selection (i.e. laying out clothes)
Meal planning and preparation
Medication reminders
Mobility support (standby assist, transfer, hoyer lift)
Transportation using own or client’s vehicle
Helping family members learn safe care techniques
