About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is hiring Caregivers, Home Health Aides (HHA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Personal Care Aides (PCA), Direct Support Professionals (DSP), and Home Care Assistants to provide non-medical in-home care to seniors and adults in Merrillville, Lake County, Porter County, and nearby communities . Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
Ability to pass a national background check
CPR certification and TB test (or willingness to obtain before starting)
Dependable, compassionate, professional, and patient
Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling and communication

Nice To Haves

Preferred 1 year experience as Caregiver, HHA, CNA, PCA, DSP, or similar role

Responsibilities

Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, ambulation, and transfers
Provide companionship, conversation, and emotional support
Perform light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, and organization
Assist with safe mobility using a walker or wheelchair
Provide medication reminders only
Observe and report any changes in client condition
Use a mobile app for clock in, clock out, and care documentation
Follow infection control, safety procedures, and agency policies
Maintain confidentiality and professional standards
