About The Position

At Senior Helpers of South Orange County , our mission is to provide premium, purpose-driven home care services that help seniors age with dignity, independence, and joy —right in the comfort of their own homes. We’re currently hiring compassionate, reliable caregivers for part-time morning shifts (10AM–2PM) in Newport Beach . You’ll provide essential personal care and companionship to wonderful older adults in your local community. Whether you’re an experienced caregiver or have helped a loved one before, we’d love to meet you! You’ll be following a personalized care plan designed to meet each client’s unique needs — and building meaningful relationships along the way.

Requirements

  • Ideally, has an active Home Care Aide (HCA) registration and at least 1 year of caregiver experience in an agency, assisted living, nursing home, or similar home care settings.
  • No experience or certifications are required - we gladly welcome first-time caregivers to apply with us!
  • Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing physical tasks.
  • Pass background checks and drug screenings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and follow care plans.
  • Ability to communicate with office staff, clients, and other caregivers through phone call, text, and email.

Responsibilities

  • Assistance with bathing, grooming, and hygiene routines
  • Help with dressing and changing clothes
  • Toileting support and incontinence care
  • Safe transfers and mobility assistance (bed, chair, walker, etc.)
  • Monitoring and assistance with medication reminders
  • Assistance with feeding and basic nutrition support
  • Engaging in friendly conversation and emotional support
  • Accompanying clients on walks or to appointments (if applicable)
  • Light housekeeping (laundry, tidying up, organizing)
  • Meal planning and simple meal preparation
  • Support with errands and grocery shopping
  • Encouraging mental stimulation, hobbies, or games
  • Providing reassurance and a calming presence
