About The Position

As a Caregiver at REM West Virginia, you will engage in rewarding work by helping individuals grow, learn, and live well. This role involves developing meaningful relationships with the people you serve and taking initiative to help participants integrate into the community and enjoy their favorite activities. You will support participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, dental hygiene, exercise, and nutrition. The position requires providing care for individuals with diverse needs, including autism and similar conditions, and offering assisted living support, which encompasses personal hygiene assistance and aid for those with behavioral challenges and other complex needs. Compassion, patience, and a sense of purpose in this work are key to a promising future at Sevita.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to cook
  • Ability to clean
  • Ability to assist with personal care, such as eating, dressing, bathing and toileting
  • Ability to stay calm and problem solve in stressful situations

  • Valid Driver's license and access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance in some positions

  • Six months of experience in human services, direct care, or care coordination
