About The Position

Professional Case Management (PCM) is hiring Relative Personal Care Attendants in Colorado. This position allows you to make a difference on your own schedule and terms. The role requires that applicants must be a family member or preferred friend of a PCM client. The job involves providing personal care and support to clients in their homes, following a plan of care prepared by a supervisor. The responsibilities include assisting clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe environment, among other tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be a family member or preferred friend of a PCM client
  • Completion of the ninth (9th) grade; prefer high school graduate
  • Able to read and write consistent with job requirements
  • Possession of emotional and cognitive maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good working relationship
  • Neat, clean personal appearance
  • Free from health problems that may be injurious to client, self, and coworkers
  • Must have annual TB skin tests and submit proof to Human Resources
  • Possess reliable transportation
  • Ability to demonstrate appropriate PCP knowledge and skills
  • Good judgment and tact in dealing with people
  • Proper hygiene and knowledge of basic safety and sanitation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with caregiving
  • Knowledge of principles of nutrition and meal preparation
  • Understanding of the aging process and emotional issues related to illness and long-term home care
  • Experience in maintaining a clean, healthful, and pleasant environment
  • Awareness that counseling is available if needed for difficult cases

Responsibilities

  • Help client maintain personal hygiene
  • Assist in maintaining a healthful, safe environment
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals
  • Shop for groceries and supplies when instructed by the client
  • Assist client with non-skilled personal care as directed
  • Encourage the client to become as independent as possible
  • Provide positive emotional support while performing tasks
  • Perform routine housekeeping tasks as related to a safe and comfortable environment
  • Complete visit reports with time in and time out each day of client visit
  • Report any client concerns or condition changes to the Agency Supervisor
  • Carry out assignments as instructed by the plan of care
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Follow emergency procedures in the event of any incident
