About The Position

Safely and effectively provides quality personal care, meets the scheduled and unscheduled needs of the residents and promotes their physical and psycho-social wellbeing by developing relationships built on trust and respect, honoring the life of the individual.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Must have a flexible schedule and availability on weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, transferring, ambulation according to their individualized service plans.
• Participate in housekeeping/laundry tasks to provide a clean and safe environment for residents/staff to work and live in.
• Assist with dining services: plating of food in dining room, serving residents, cutting food, assisting with feeding by offering encouragement, cueing, providing hand over hand guidance and/or feeding.
• Participate in life enrichment programming to include gathering of residents; escorts to/from, supervision and leading of programs; and in family and social activities.
• Report and record ANY changes in resident condition (physical, psychological, behavioral, social) to nurse on duty.
• Document resident status per community policy.
• Apply principles of infection control, including standard precautions, hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, cleaning and disinfection, respiratory hygiene, waste disposal.
• Monitor resident environment to ensure all safety standards are met or exceeded.
• Participate in the admission of new residents.
• Promptly respond to all pendants, call lights and pull cords ensuring highest level of hospitality and customer service.
• Routinely make rounds of resident care areas to ensure resident wellbeing.
• Provide emergency response within scope of practice.
• Follow through with all assignments completely, thoroughly and timely.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure success of community.
