Job description The Home Care Aide (HCA), also referred to as a Caregiver, is classified as unlicensed personnel employed by a Home Care Organization (HCO) to provide non-medical home care services. These services support clients who, due to advanced age, physical, or mental disability, are unable to perform these tasks independently.
Requirements
- HCA registration with CDSS
- Negative TB test
- Reliable Transportation
Responsibilities
- Assists residents with activities of daily living, such as:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Grooming
- Toileting
- Transfers
- Feeding
- Preparing or heating up meals
- Medication reminders
- Maintain a clean, and orderly environment for the individual by completing light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Accompany client to medical appointments and other errands.
- Allowing and encouraging clients to do as much of their own care as possible.
