About The Position

Village Caregiving - Martinsburg is seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers/CNAs to join our team in Shepherdstown, WV. In this role, you will provide personalized care and support to our clients, helping them maintain their independence and improve their quality of life. We are looking for a compassionate caregiver/CNA to join our growing team! The right candidate has a can-do attitude, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to provide many levels of support to our clients.

Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or equivalent training.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a care team.
  • Reliable transportation to and from client locations in Shepherdstown, WV.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing excellent care.
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards

  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
  • Take pride in providing high quality care
  • Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Monitor and report any changes in clients’ health or behavior to nursing staff or supervisors.
  • Assist with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
  • Ensure client safety and comfort at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
  • Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
  • Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
  • Plan and prepare meals
  • Assist with physical therapy exercises
  • Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary
