About The Position

Iris Memory Care of NW OKC is seeking caregivers, certified nursing assistants (CNAs), and certified medication aides (CMAs). The community is a small, freestanding memory care assisted living facility located in NW OKC, with 54 residents split between three buildings. All residents are coping with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, and it is an age-in-place community, meaning caregivers will assist residents throughout all stages of the disease. The role involves providing comprehensive care and support to seniors with memory impairment.

Requirements

  • Must be an active on the OK Nurse Aide Registry
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 18 years old, or older if required per the state regulations.
  • Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements.
  • Ability/willingness to perform all position responsibilities adequately.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one year experience in working with older adults as a personal care assistant preferred.
  • Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred.
  • Experience with dementia residents preferred.
  • Priority will be given to candidates who have worked in memory care before.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing Resident services and other duties as assigned.
  • Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
  • Assists with activities of daily living/ADL’s, environmental orientation, dining services, life enrichment programs, laundry and housekeeping, meal services, and other care services assigned, while encouraging self-care and independence.
  • Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for Residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Offers comfort and support, emotionally and physically, to Residents.
  • Assists with vital signs and weight monitoring monthly or more frequently as required for all Residents and completes all required documentation.
  • Ensures that Residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere, which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.
  • Assists with individual Resident and group social recreational activities.
