About The Position
Joieful Connections is seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals to provide supportive care to children and young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. In this role, you will promote independence and choice while creating opportunities for these individuals to develop essential life, social, and communication skills. Your daily activities may include engaging in fun and enriching experiences such as riding bikes, hiking, reading, or playing games. We are looking for reliable, kind, and humorous individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those they support. This position offers W2 employment with a competitive starting pay of $22.00 per hour. We value work-life balance and provide the flexibility to create your own schedule, primarily offering afternoon shifts between 2 PM and 10 PM. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be responsible for supporting individuals in building independent living skills, including hygiene, safety, social skills, and meal preparation. You will also need to effectively communicate with families, medical providers, and other support personnel, making calm decisions in emergency situations. This role requires a minimum of one year of experience in caregiving, particularly with individuals who have developmental or intellectual disabilities, and a commitment to ongoing training and certification in CPR and First Aid.
