About The Position

A Place At Home – Glenside is looking for compassionate, reliable caregivers who can provide exceptional care to our clients—including individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing. If you have American Sign Language (ASL) experience, we would love to have you on our team!

Requirements

• Experience as a caregiver (home care, facility, or personal experience)
• ASL (American Sign Language) experience strongly preferred
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable personality
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with all clients
• Must have reliable transportation (REQUIRED)
• Ability to pass a background check and meet PA state requirements
• CNA, HHA, or DSP certification is a plus (not required)

Nice To Haves

• Have experience working with the deaf or hard-of-hearing community
• Have dementia or Alzheimer’s care experience
• Are comfortable working independently in a home setting

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
• Provide companionship and emotional support
• Communicate effectively with clients, including those who are deaf or hard of hearing (ASL skills highly preferred)
• Assist with meal preparation and light housekeeping
• Provide medication reminders
• Support mobility and transfers when needed
• Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
