About The Position
The caregiver position at Good Samaritan Society involves providing essential in-home care to individuals who struggle with daily activities due to health issues or age-related challenges. This role is crucial in assisting clients with personal care tasks, which may include bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating. Caregivers are responsible for following a daily care schedule tailored to each client's needs, which may be modified based on medical professionals' recommendations. They are also tasked with monitoring clients' health and reporting any changes or new needs that arise during their care. In addition to personal care, caregivers may assist clients with mobility, helping them move in and out of beds, chairs, or wheelchairs. They may also provide transportation to medical appointments and ensure that the client's home environment is safe and organized according to their preferences. Emotional support is a key component of this role, as caregivers encourage clients to engage in necessary tasks and maintain their independence. Light housekeeping duties may also be part of the job, ensuring that the living space remains conducive to the client's well-being.
