About The Position

The Quality Coordinator works to maintain and improve the delivery of safe patient care through a continuous, systematic approach to monitoring CareFlight Air & Mobile Services' clinical performance and outcomes, safety management, and operational performance. The individual is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of quality and performance activities to meet accreditation requirements and departmental goals. They work closely with the Medical Director and Program Manager to ensure departmental quality compliance and collaborate regularly with CareFlight leadership and collaborating partners. The Quality Coordinator acts like a liaison between the Safety Management System and Quality Management Program. The Flight Nurse functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The Flight Nurse utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to provide safe and rapid transport of critically ill or injured patients by air ambulance or mobile intensive care to a higher level medical treatment facility. The Flight Nurse provides advanced emergency/critical care during medical transport and may also provide nursing care for patients throughout Premier Health. This position also includes public relations and medical education functions. Flight Nurse is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Valid Nursing License in the state of Ohio.
  • Certified Paramedic in the state of Ohio.
  • 3 - 5 years of job-related experience.
  • 3 years of experience with CareFlight Air and Mobile Services.

  • Quality or process improvement training such as Lean, Six Sigma.
