About The Position

Assess graduates' placement readiness and provide appropriate referrals and support services in accordance with DOL, Center, and Equus requirements. Ensure timely placement and retention of graduates in quality jobs, military, or further education, with a goal of 50% placement prior to separation. Develop and maintain relationships with employers, One-Stops, and State Employment Agencies to promote job opportunities. Conduct monthly follow-ups on graduates and former enrollees to provide ongoing placement services. Assist graduates with resume preparation, interview skills, and placement search strategies. Identify and make referrals to transitional support services necessary for successful placement and retention. Conduct weekly training workshops on career preparation topics and instruct Career Prep students. Document all placement services provided to graduates in case notes and verify placements with employers. Establish relationships with community colleges and other entities to ensure successful placements with good career pathway opportunities. Provide individualized services to Job Corps graduates and former enrollees during the prescribed service period. Develop and implement innovative strategies to increase graduate placement rates and job retention. Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless transition from training to employment for graduates. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labor market trends and in-demand occupations to guide graduates effectively. Organize and participate in job fairs, both on-site and in the community, to connect graduates with potential employers. Monitor and report on placement outcomes, providing regular updates to management on progress towards goals. Assist in the development and implementation of alumni engagement programs to foster long-term success of graduates. Provide guidance on financial literacy and budgeting to help graduates manage their finances post-placement. Collaborate with local workforce development boards to align placement efforts with regional economic priorities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closely related field with two years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working with young people aged 16-24, demonstrating leadership skills and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Current certification under Puerto Rico Law 300 and a valid Puerto Rico Class 4 driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and present information clearly to diverse audiences.
